Marine Corps will be celebrating
its opening and dedication in
Quantico, Va., just 20 miles from
Washington, D.C.
Home to more than 1,800 pho-
tographs and 5,000 artifacts,
including the Marines’ signature
AV- 8 Harrier jet, tanks, uniforms
and World War II aircraft, the
museum’s interior commemo-
rates the Corps’ 231-year history
while its façade boasts a 210-
foot-tall mast of the iconic image

of the flag raisers at Iwo Jima.
With 135 acres to cover, including
the stunning Leatherneck Gallery, strolling the grounds is akin to taking an
