THE MUMMY
RETURNS
PENNSYLVANIA
Tut Mania is back! Now through
September, Philadelphia’s Franklin
Institute Science Museum is hosting Tutankhamun and the Golden
Age of the Pharaohs ( kingtut.org).
This blockbuster exhibit offers a
rare opportunity to see archaeological treasures and discover ancient
Egyptian culture.
Oh, who are
we kidding? This
show is about
mummies!
After you’ve
explored the mysteries of King Tut’s
tomb, the City of
Brotherly Love is
ready to feed your
Tut Fever. The
Golden Plough Inn
offers a Mummy Body Wrap,
while the Body Restoration spa
features the Secrets of the Sphinx
Exfoliating Scrub. Bartenders all
over town are mixing King Tut-tinis, and pastry chefs are building
chocolate pyramids.
Restaurants are cashing in on
the craze, too, with menu offerings
like Cleopatra’s Catfish Fingers
or the 16-ounce King Tut’s Cut of
prime rib. Top prize for inspired
kitschiness goes to the Melting Pot
Restaurant—King Tut’s Fondue
Feast may not be historically ac-
curate, but why not celebrate the
glory of ancient Egypt through
molten cheese?
What’s
the Story?
You tell us!
