Autumn’s Harvests
There will be cars galore at
the Chase Center this October,
and a “rock star” preview of
new cars and trucks for 200 8.
Summer’s over and the year is starting to
wind down, but plenty of experiences
still wait to be had along the Northeast
Corridor—and Amtrak is your ticket to
all the fun. If Broadway musicals are your thing, you
can take your pick from The Producers, The Wedding Singer or Hairspray. Oscar-winner Kathy Bates
returns to the stage in the world premiere of a play by
Terrence McNally. (“I’d like to give it one more shot
while I can still remember my lines,” Bates says.)
Enjoy the soothing sounds of jazz during two unique
events; experience Blue Man Group; test-drive before you buy at an auto show featuring cars and trucks
of today and tomorrow; check in at places that feel
like home; find a cool way to ride the rails, and so
much more. Be sure to note the discount rail fares to
select destinations. There’s no end to where Amtrak
can take you. —Compiled by Michael Hammett

Art of the Pre-Raphaelites,
returns from a two-year international tour to its home at
the Delaware Art Museum.
The Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood was a group of middle-class British artists who
banded together in 1848 to
overthrow the staid conventions of the English art world
(not an easy task). The brotherhood drew images from
legends and myths but did not
believe in idealizing beauty at
the expense of truth. Instead,
these artists depicted their
imaginary images with the
exactitude of commissioned
portraits. delart.org.
