The National
Museum of Crime
and Punishment

D.C.’s newest interactive museum—
The National Museum of Crime and
Punishment. The
museum provides
groups of all ages
with a memorable
insight into the history of crime, crime
fighting and the
consequences of
committing a crime
in America. Spread
over 28,000 square
feet, the multilevel
museum presents
exhibits on everything from pirates,
Wild West outlaws,
serial killers and
gangsters to white-collar criminals
hiding behind computer technology.
The museum also
hosts the studio
of the renowned
crime-fighting
TV series, America’s
Most Wanted. Museum guests are invited to witness the
taping of the show
and see the AMW
hot line in action.
Other attractions
include a realistic
interactive forensics
lab and a station
to create ID cards
and fingerprints.
