LUXURY STAYS
Boston’s Finest
Late autumn and the holiday season—what a
lovely time to visit Boston. And a lovelier time
to stay at The Langham, Boston, which has
wrapped up a gift basket full of special packages
to tempt patrons through the end of the year,
replete with luxurious guest rooms, sumptuous
food and cordial service.
Take for example the Couple’s Ultimate
Escape, so needed given the pressure of
the holiday season. The package includes a
60-minute couple’s massage in the groundbreaking
Chuan Body + Soul spa (in a special couple’s suite
equipped with your own hot top and shower),
a discount on other treatments and overnight
accommodations. The spa is inspired by traditional
Chinese medicine and treatments, including
acupuncture. Rates start at $340 per room
(package savings: more than $110).
Good food is top shelf at
The Langham, and even more
so for the holidays. Chef Mark
Sapienza is rolling out decadent
brunches before Christmas
(Nov. 29 and Dec. 6, 13 and 20;
$65) and others on Christmas
Day ($70) and New Year’s Day
(with special restorative medicinal
options; $65). Stay over New
Year’s Eve and get a late checkout
( 4 p.m.) and a seat at the Rejuvenation Brunch
starting at $285 per room.
The Savory Savings Package o;ers guests
overnight accommodations and a $40 food credit
to use in either Café Fleuri or BOND restaurant
and lounge, the modern dining room and bar that
doubles as a night spot, open till 2 a.m. Rates start
at $165 per room, Nov. 14 through Jan. 31, 2010.
One sweet o;ering is almost too exotic for words:
The Chocolate Bar. Every Saturday afternoon,
from mid-September through June, pastry chef Jed
Hackney sets up 85 varieties of chocolate desserts
at stations around the dining room and guests
go at it. The cost is $38 per person, but the hotel
o;ers the Golden Ticket savings package, which
starts at $225 and includes an overnight stay, valet
parking and Chocolate Bar for two. And on Dec. 5,
12 and 19, special Chocolate Bars will be presented
with 125 di;erent desserts and
Santa Claus as special guest ($42
adults; $28 children, 5-12). Prices
are based on double occupancy.
Children eat at reduced prices.
