Dakshina/Daniel Phoenix Singh Dance Company heads to a city near you
this spring, performing modern dance and classical Indian dance forms
(see D.C., New York, Maryland and Pennsylvania sections), presented by
Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation. “The dance sequences in Slumdog Millionaire
are based on the Bollywood genre of dance, which borrows heavily from
the classical dance form we perform,” says Daniel Phoenix Singh, founder.
“Our company also has a strong social justice mission and so our dances
often reflect that in the themes.” Experience Pulitzer Prize- and Tony Award-nominated playwright/actress Anna Deavere Smith (co-star of Showtime’s
Nurse Jackie) in her one-woman show, Let Me Down Easy, in Philly. Daniel
Radcliffe takes another big step away from Harry Potter in his Broadway
musical debut, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. Journey
along the Wine and Ale Trail in Delaware; feast your eyes on the Maryland
Film Festival; celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in “America’s Most Irish City,” Boston;
enjoy “Springtime in Paris” at the Philadelphia International Flower Show; and
so much more. Be sure to check for special discount companion fares below
