Castleton Festival presents more than
200 talented, young artistic professionals, creating and presenting
exceptional performances of fully-staged operas and glorious symphonic
music under the leadership of Maestro
Lorin Maazel, one of the world’s most
celebrated conductors, on his farm in
Castleton, Rappahannock County, Va.,
60 miles southwest of Washington,
D.C. This year’s festival features a new
production of Puccini’s La Bohème
conducted by Maestro Maazel in an
unconventional, intimate staging. The
festival features new productions of
Kurt Weill’s The Seven Deadly Sins
and Ravel’s L’enfant et les sortil ges,
as well as revivals, orchestra concerts,
recitals, public master classes and
cabaret.
