March on: A core group of
living history “marchers”
celebrates the Washington
Rochambeau Revolutionary
Route’s ( W3R) designation as a National Historic
Trail with a 700-mile trek
that begins in Newport,
R.I., June 18, and concludes
in Yorktown, Va., in early
October. The marchers
will travel the length of the
W3R, retracing the route
taken by French soldiers in
1781 during the war for independence and the defeat of
the British at Yorktown. A
six-day encampment takes
place in Delaware, Sept. 2–7.

2011–’ 12 Broadway Series
opens with a new production of South Pacific, based
on the 2008 Tony Award-winning Lincoln Center
Theater production. Set
