Thousands of revelers joined
President Barack Obama and
the first family Dec. 1 for the
annual National Christmas
Tree lighting ceremony on
the Ellipse in President’s Park.
Celebrating its 89th year, the
event included appearances
and holiday performances by
One Republic, Big Time Rush,
Carson Daly, Rodney Atkins,
Ellie Goulding, Kermit the Frog
and, of course, the inimitable
Santa Claus.
