THE ART OF MARY PAGE EVANS
ON VIEW THROUGH JULY 15, 2012
Founded in 1912 to preserve the work
of Wilmington artist Howard Pyle, the
Delaware Art Museum holds a world-renowned collection of American art
and illustration from the 19th century
to the present, the largest collection of
British Pre-Raphaelite art outside the
United Kingdom, and the art and archives of American artist John Sloan.
The museum is currently featuring the
exhibitions “Painted Poetry: The Art
of Mary Page Evans,” “Beyond Words:
The Symbolic Language of Plants,” and
“Tales of Folk and Fairies: The Life and
Work of Katharine Pyle.” The museum also features an interactive Kids
Corner, the Thronson Café, a sprawling nine-acre sculpture park, and the
Museum Store with distinctive books
and gifts. Open Wednesday–Saturday,
10–4, and Sunday Noon– 4.
