Using about 500 artifacts from the museum’s
collection, the exhibit reveals how baseball
has reflected and served as a catalyst for
change in American society. A broad range of
themes, such as immigration, nationalism,
integration, technology and pop culture, is
explored through objects including uniforms,
equipment, books, recordings, films and
historic documents. Die-hard fans
will no doubt jump at the chance to
view one of the sport’s most sacred
relics: the Doubleday ball from
baseball’s legendary first game in
1839. Through May 11.
