The festival’s hottest ticket is the Opening
Night Gala, Aug. 5 at the Providence Performing Arts Center, which allows patrons to
enjoy a screening, a food-and-beverage tasting from local restaurants and sponsors, and
a red-carpet reception where they can rub
elbows with celebrity guests and filmmakers.

Andrew McCarthy.
