“Having regulars helps the pro-
cess,” says general manager Doug
Alexander, “as we know what they
enjoy and their dining style. At lunch,
80 percent of our reservations are
from regulars, while at dinner, more
than half of our guests are tourists
and first-time guests. People come
to the New York location from all
over the world because they have
dined in other BiCE locations and
are comfortable with our style and
our menus. Our team of servers and
managers makes our clientele feel at
home the moment they arrive until
the moment they leave.”
In addition to serving up a terrific
dining experience to native New
Yorkers and visitors alike, BiCE is
very much involved with the local
community and hosts several func-
tions a year to raise money for mus-
cular dystrophy causes, cancer
research, nonprofit businesses and
other organizations.
“Many times a guest will come in
needing a gift certificate to be raffled
off for a children’s school,” Alexander
says, “and BiCE will happily give to
those in need.”
Back in the kitchen, 20 ex-
pertly trained cooks prepare the
fare. Imported ingredients are the
restaurant’s staples—mozzarella
di bufala, prosciutto San Daniele
with melon—and signature dishes
include lobster salad with hearts of
palm and avocado. Assorted sea-
sonal vegetables offer simplicity,
allowing the ingredients to speak
for themselves. The pastas, made
in-house, are superb.
“People are looking for consisten-
cy,” says Alexander. “Throw in great
service and genuine care for the guest,
and this ensures that our restaurant
will continue to be the one people
come back to time and time again.”
Whether it’s a pappardelle al
telefono or tagliolini made with fresh
lobster, BiCE treats its pastas with love
and care. Orders can be made in half-
portions and customized to specific
dietary requests. Also, a new pre- and
post-theater menu with a special wine
list takes it easy on the wallet during
these tough economic times.
BiCE continues to excel as a very
special restaurant in the finest restau-
rant city in the world. New Yorkers can
take pride in its ongoing success.
