the evolution of Chinese

millennia will be on view
at the Smithsonian’s
Arthur M. Sackler

fireworks display. This multiple-award-winning
event will be broadcast live in high definition on
PBS (check local listings). The concert also will
be simulcast on National Public Radio and to
our troops around the world on the American
Forces Network. The show ends with a rousing
rendition of Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture, complete with live cannon fire provided by the U.S.
Army Presidential Salute Battery, an audience
favorite and a Capitol Fourth tradition. July 4,
8 p.m, on the grounds of the West Lawn of the
U.S. Capitol.
