On July 1, Mohegan Sun Casino in Connecticut welcomed chef Bobby Flay to the culinary family with the opening of Bobby’s Burger Palace at the resort.
Mohegan Tribal Council Vice Chairwoman Lynn Malerba,
Allison Johnson, Mark Brown, Cheryl Todd, Thayne Hutchins, James Gessner, Chairman Bruce and “Two Dogs” Bozsum cut the ribbon with chef Bobby Flay, his business partner Laurence Kretchmer, and the restaurant GM Jason Griffing at the July 1 opening of Bobby’s Burger Palace at Mohegan Sun Casino.
On July 30, veteran actor Joey Pantoliano—best known as the unctuous “Ralphie Cifaretto” in The Sopranos—screened the film No Kidding, Me Too!, his documentary about brain disease, at the 2009 Woods Hole Film Festival in Falmouth, Mass.
Joey “Pants” Pantoliano, a filmmaker in residence, received the Saint Aire Award at the 18th annual Woods Hole Film Festival. Other filmmakers attending the event included regular Acela travelers Todd Norwood and Elika Portnoy, who screened their film Tricks of Love.
