Meet Me at Tracks
At Tracks Raw Bar & Grill in New York’s Penn Station, the walls are
adorned with images from railroad days past, including a number of pho-
tographs from the era when Pennsylvania Station was a breathtaking neo-
classical landmark. The old Penn is, alas, gone, but its spirit lives on in this
restaurant that evokes a time when travel was more civilized and dining
meant sitting down to a real meal prepared with care or just an expertly
poured pint.
Since 2003, Long Island Rail Road commuters have learned that “the
place with the long mahogany bar” (and at 105 feet, it’s one of the longest
in the Big Apple) is an oasis of fine
food, friendly service and comfortable
surroundings in a desert of indifferent
and unappetizing takeout options.
