its annual “Holiday Gilbert
Train Exhibition.” Classic

where E.I. du Pont settled
in 1802 along the bank of
the Brandywine Creek and
began harnessing its power
to produce high-quality
gunpowder, thus laying the
foundation for the DuPont
Company. Designated by
American Bus Association
as one of the Top 100 Events
for 2010, Eleutherian Mills,
the ancestral home of five
generations of the du Ponts,
is dressed for the holidays
in colonial revival style
and open for guided tours.
Dried flowers, fruits and
greenery create a festive
