The President’s House
Another look at American history on Philadelphia’s Independence Mall

walked its halls and found
refuge under its roof. But the
story becomes complex when not all who
lived there did so freely. Such is the case
with the newly opened President’s House,
the former executive mansion and home
to presidents George Washington and
John Adams when Philadelphia served as
the nation’s capital.
