Marian Anderson Award Gala
On May 10, Mia Farrow—actress, humanitarian and activist—
received the prestigious Marian Anderson Award at The Kim-
mel Center in Philadelphia. More than 500 guests attended
the black-tie dinner, and a crowd of 2,000 enjoyed the gala
concert, featuring
performances by
Carly Simon, opera
star Angela Brown
and 2011 Grammy
Award winner
Esperanza Spald-
ing. The annual
award honors art-
ists whose leader-
ship on behalf
of humanitarian
causes or issues
benefits society.
