organization is responsible for launching the
careers of more than 1,000 public interest law
leaders and has engaged thousands of law students to do pro bono legal work. In addition to
all this, Equal Justice Works offers the nation’s
largest legal fellowship program. Over the
years, its efforts have helped individuals dealing with issues ranging from homelessness to
domestic violence.
This year, Equal Justice Works celebrates
25 years in existence, and its 25th anniversary
gala celebration Oct. 20 brings together the
country’s top legal professionals and supporters of justice for a night of food, fundraising
and recognition of those who are dedicated
to serving society. The event will be officiated
by NBC’s Meet the Press moderator, David
Gregory. Speakers at past galas have included
Hillary Clinton, Janet Reno and Elena Kagan.
