Boylston Street becomes
a runway for a week of
couture parties
For nearly t wo decades, Boston Fashion
Week has been building momentum and
recognition, defining the city as a serious town for clothing design. This year’s
celebration is a series of integrated events
centered in the Back Bay and branching out
to all corners of the city. BF W runs Sept.
23–30 and marks the debut of the Tent,
which will serve as center stage for viewing
the latest apparel from national and international design houses as well as the figure-skimming creations of Boston’s own Daniela
Corte and other local favorites, including
Denise Hajjar, Daniel Faucher and Michael
De Paulo. On each side of the Tent, the
Shops at Prudential Center and the Mandarin Oriental hotel will host parties, seminars
and more than 20 additional shows. Greater
Boston shops, hair salons and restaurants
are getting into the act, too, via the Fashion
