Baltimore’s Inner Harbor has plenty of chain hotels, but INN at
2920 is a better option for local character. The chic B and B is in
a row house in the waterfront neighborhood of Canton. The five
guest rooms are each unique but decidedly contemporary, with
exposed brick walls, furnishings such as wrought iron canopy or
cherry sleigh beds, and limestone-tiled bathrooms, some with
whirlpool tubs. In the morning, a full breakfast (included) is
served in the dining room. Doubles from $175; theinnat2920.com
The Inn at Perry Cabin • St. Michaels
The Inn at Perry Cabin, with its serene setting on the Miles River,
a Chesapeake Bay tributary, is an exclusive getaway for Washingtonians. On the inn’s 25 acres are well-groomed gardens and
an infinity edge swimming pool. The antique shops and restaurants in St. Michaels—the Eastern Shore’s most charming small
town—are just a short walk away. The original manor house was
built in 1812, and the 78 guest rooms combine both contemporary
and period furnishings; some have French doors leading to a
deck, porch or veranda. Doubles from $390; perrycabin.com
