Invariably, Victor’s is the perfect setting for an anniversary or birthday. To that end, they offer an extensive wine list and an appealing selection of Champagnes.

It would’ve been easy for Victor’s to slip into oblivion. I mean, singing waiters? Really. And for a few years it looked as if the restaurant might fold. But Gregg has managed to turn it around with a passion for great food and music that reflects his grandfather’s dream.

So, instead of scaling back, Gregg has expanded the restaurant and its menu. The food is better and more innovative than ever. And even if you prefer Lady Gaga to Maria Callas, the singing is sensational.

The restaurant also is one of Philly’s leading tourist destinations. I’m not saying it’s more famous than Independence Hall, but let’s put it this way: The couple sitting next to me had just arrived from Kansas and they came to Victor’s before visiting the Liberty Bell.
