Balloons glow at night at the South County Hot Air Balloon Festival.
LOVING SUMMER
the skies over rhode island will be awash in color in late July during the annual South
County Hot Air Balloon Festival. Morning and early evening ascensions take place, along with
a spectacular nighttime “balloon glow” (balloons are anchored with burners alight) and other
events. Elsewhere in the state and beyond, more opportunities abound for enjoying outdoor
entertainment and basking in the warm weather.
