Museum expands
its city palace
Built on a portion of the Frederick Law Olmsted Emerald Necklace park system, a new
wing of the historic Isabella Stewart Gardner
Museum opens Jan. 19. The new building,
designed by Italian architect Renzo Piano,
whose structures can be found in Atlanta,
France, Italy and Japan, is a sustainable

Opening exhibitions include paintings by Victoria Morton, photography by Luisa Lambri,

continues with its Sunday Concert Series,
featuring 18 concerts for the Calderwood Performance Hall’s opening year, including world
premières and commissions for the new hall
